Dynamic GraphsGraphs are becoming more common on the web. T-Tools software allows you to create powerful, real-time graphing applications with great flexibility and ease. Balance Hydrologics Inc. monitors streams and rivers in Northern California. T-Tools has developed an online graphing system that allows Balance Hydros customers to query arbitrary stream data stored on their server. In addition to creating good looking graphics, our software generates image maps that allow users great flexibility in reading graph data. In this example, a secondary image is created to display data point details when visitors roll their mouse over points on the graph.
Balance Hydrologics also had a need to add Postit Notes to specific data points. T-Tools was able to modify the image templates to include these post it note annotations and the annotations are included in the image maps as well to allow more detailed information to be displayed in the Notes area above the graph.
All of the image properties are stored in a convenient XML format which allows web masters to modify any aspect of the graph with ease. To see a live, online demonstration of this system go to www.balancehydrologics.com/sample/index.php. Here is a simple example of a dynamically generated graph. The following form allows you to set several bar chart properties so you can see the image generator in action. (There are actually dozens of settable properties for bar charts) Manipulate the form values and then push Generate Image to re-render the chart. |
